Meet the Carpenter Family

In 1881, the Carpenter family began farming on a small tract of land in north central California. Little did they know then that the farm would still be a family business more than 135 years and six generations later.

Andrew Carpenter (pictured left) shares how his great-great grandfather started a homestead on this land in Lake County in the video below. Now, it’s still a family business with his father and two sons working alongside him, growing some of the most sought-after pears in all of California.

The family operates a completely organic farm with a legacy of caring for the land in everything they do.

They have been suppliers to R.W. Knudsen since 2007 and follow the same ethos as we do: The best fruit makes the best juice.

“The pears in our harvest are all hand labor, the way that it was done in 1926. We want them picked by hands, that way we know we’re going to get the best quality fruit we can.”
